Phezulu Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This notice explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the rights you have.
Who we are
Phezulu Academy is a SETA and QCTO accredited training provider and the sister company of Phezulu Solutions. For the purposes of POPIA we are the “responsible party” for the personal information described in this notice.

What information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form or a course enquiry form we ask for your name, email address and phone number, and optionally your company, the course you are interested in, a preferred training date and a message. We only collect what you choose to enter.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting server keeps standard access logs (your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request). When you send an enquiry we also use your IP address briefly to limit repeated automated submissions. We do not use this information to identify you.
Cookies. This site uses cookies only where you have agreed to them through the cookie notice shown on your first visit. Essential cookies (for example, to remember your cookie choice) are always used. You can change your cookie choices at any time through the cookie settings link on the site or in your browser.
Why we collect it and on what basis
- To respond to your enquiry, quote or booking request — because you have asked us to, and it is necessary to take the steps you have requested before entering into an agreement with us.
- To keep the website secure and available — in our legitimate interest in running the site properly.
- To send you information about our courses in future — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we never sell it.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is emailed to our staff so that we can respond. The website and its email are hosted in South Africa by our hosting provider, who processes data on our behalf under a contract. We do not share your personal information with anyone else except where the law requires it.
The Contact page embeds a Google Map; when that map loads, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under Google’s privacy policy. Course pages link to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) website; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, after which they are deleted. Server access logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and are then automatically removed. If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as we have a business relationship with you and as required by law.
How we protect it
The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, form submissions are protected against automated abuse, and access to our email and systems is restricted to staff who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable, appropriate steps to protect your information.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
- object to us using your information for direct marketing, and to withdraw any consent you have given;
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.

Children
This website is intended for adults and for businesses arranging training. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

We may update this notice from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
